Gary was born in Seattle in 1944.  For the past 20 years he and his wife, Betty, have lived in Ocean Shores on the Washington coast.

 

His interest in photography began in high school back when film was developed in a dark room.  “What a great place to hang out with girls”, he thought.

 

That interest (in photography) has evolved from Christmas cards and calendars for the family, to his latest business venture, North Coast Photos.

 

Gary prefers photographing animals rather than humans because the critters are less critical of the finished product.

 

His photos are often featured in the North Coast News where he was dubbed “The Ansel Adams of Duck Lake”.
